Flooded Ohio River- My front yard

Posted on May 6, 2011 Written by Nibby Priest

This is an aerial photograph of the flooded Ohio River in front of my house at the downtown Henderson KY riverfront. You cannot see my house in this picture because it is hidden by the trees.

One thing they say about Henderson KY is that we are on the Ohio River but never in it.  The downtown area is very blessed not to have to be dealing with some of the flooding issues that the outlying county areas are dealing with.

This picture was taken May 6, 2011.  The picture is a high resolution photograph.  Please click on the picture for a more detailed view.

Thank you pilot Randy VanWynsberghe for sharing this picture with me.

Wow, the view from up top pretty much captures the reality of the situation.

Yes, I have never seen the water up to the park benches like they are in this picture.
