What is the Train carrying now?

Posted on July 17, 2008 Written by Nibby Priest

When you live near the railroad you never know what passes through your town. Today at lunch when leaving the office I looked up at the rail road and these huge propellers were on the train tracks. I did a little investigation and found that they were on their way to North Dakota. They are windmill blades for an electricity farm.

The future of electricity I assume.

With as many trains that come through Henderson (sometimes 50 per day) I’m glad to know that it was something that is good for our environment. Many times I think that the tanker cars on the trains carry very dangerous chemicals. Living as close as I do to the tracks I am always ready for a quick evacuation.

You must get used to hearing all the trains. Whenever I take Jonas to Sunset Park, there are always so many trains! One every half hour?

Yes, sometimes they can be quite noisy, but you get used to it.
